Q: Can I have a stroke, or heart attack if my HDL level is low & my TOTAL cholesterol is Desirable (normal) ?????

I've been experiecing pain that radiates from my calf to my chest, to my arm then to the left side of my brian.

Hi Silvia,

 

Yes, individuals with normal cholesterol levels (including normal HDL levels) can have a stroke or heart attack.

 

I recommend contacting your physician.
