    Thanks for your question.

There is a discrepancy between the two sides.  Is this a new finding?

I suggest you make an appointment with your physician to verify these readings.  If they are confirmed, there a few things that your doctor will check you for that might cause this difference.  He will check all of your pulses which will help determine if there is a blockage in one of the major arteries.  If necessary, there are further studies that he will consider if there is concern that the circulation is being interrupted at some point between your heart and your left arm.

The ankle swelling is not a factor in your blood pressure readings.  This may be a result of the hip surgery on the right side, or may be local problem in the leg.  Your doctor will also check this out to be sure there is no evidence of blood clot in the leg.  If there is a suspicion, then a sound wave test (Doppler study) can be performed to check this out definitively.  IF there is a clot, then you will require treatment to help prevent further clot from breaking off and traveling to the lungs.

Bottom line: you need to see your doctor.

    Best wishes.
