Q: why does my bp continue to fluctuate throughout the day even though i"m on benicar?

i'm 63, male and an avid runner....40-50 miles a week...all my cholesterol numbers are good -130....have had all heart tests and a cardio checkup yearly - always fine....resting heart rate of 44bpm due to running....dr thinks i'm in excellent health...do worry about my bp....take benicar 20mg daily but still my bp sometimes fluctuates a lot....could be 165/75 and later in the day could be 125/75.   When i get a high reading I worry about it all day and it continues to stay high until i find a way to stop worrying about it....i do take niravam .05mg at night to help me sleep....I do have extreme anxiety about my health so maybe that's the bp cause...don't know.... my dr. doesn't seem too worried because my bp doesn't stay for weeks on end at a high level and does come down...says only to worry if it never comes down.....wondering what you all think?  Thanks
