Q: i have been taking lisiniprol for over 3 years

Can anyone please let me kn ow if they have gained weight with this drug as i am at my wits end i have gained a lot and nothing seems to remove it.

Hi Sylvia,

 

A link between lisinopril and weight gain has not been established.  In studies on lisinopril, less than 1% of participants reported weight gain.  That doesn't mean there's not a link for you.  I recommend discussing your options with your physician.  Maybe you can be switched to a different medication to see if the weight gain stops or you're able to start losing.  If you're weight gain has been very rapid, such as 3-5 pounds a week, this is a possible indication of congestive heart failure.  Again, consult with your physician to determine your options.
