The Associated Press has reported that drugmaker Pfizer is removing its blood pressure drug Thelin from the market because it has been linked to liver problems that are potentially fatal. The medication is currently sold in the European Union, Canada, and Australia, and Pfizer had planned to have it approved for use in the United States. Two patients died during a clinical trial involving the use of Thelin, Pfizer reported.
