People who drank two cans of a popular energy drink in a recent
study boosted their systolic blood pressure by as much as 9.6
percent, their diastolic blood pressure by as much as 7.8 percent,
and their heart rate by as much as 11 percent. Researchers say that
though these increases aren't likely to harm healthy patients,
people who take blood pressure meds or who have cardiovascular
disease may respond badly to the drinks.
