Study: Race, gender affect blood pressure control

A new study suggests that rates of high blood pressure among heart failure patients vary widely by race and gender. Researchers looked at more than 37,000 heart failure patients at 195 hospitals. They found that white patients were more likely to be given treatments to effectively control their blood pressure than black patients. And within these two groups, the men were more likely to receive hypertension treatment than women. Read more »
