Experts say up to one billion people worldwide don't get enough
vitamin D. The vitamin, which people get from sun exposure, diet,
and supplements, is necessary for preventing many common health
problems. According to a recent study, people who do not get enough
vitamin D are at greater risk of developing diseases such as
osteoporosis, cancer, diabetes, Crohn's disease, hypertension, and
heart disease.
