About Me

Tracy Davenport is an advocate for parents and caregivers of chronically ill children. Tracy has two children, one of which suffers from severe gastroespogheal reflux disease. The obstacles Tracy faced in finding treatment for her son and the emotional rollercoaster of having a baby with reflux led her and her husband to write her first book, Making Life Better for a Baby With Acid Reflux.

As a result of the book, Tracy and her husband heard from many families around the world who were looking for answers, or someone to listen and understand the impact that chronic disease has on their lives.

Tracy is now a third year PhD student in human development and family studies. Her focus is on the psychological and social impact of disease and disabilities on individuals and their families. She is currently researching the affordability of caregiving. In September her focus will shift to integrated healthcare.

Each week Tracy will provide pull from her experience as a caregiver, information from support groups, family theory and the latest research findings to help you or a loved on live with IBD.
