If you are a regular reader of my blog then you've probably figured out by now that I'm a pretty big advocate of listening to my body and employing many of the mind/body disciplines to help me live a successful life with IBD. I've written quite a bit about figuring out the foods and diet that are bes...

I hope you continue to feel okay, and I'm glad that you were able to get the flare under control before it became a major issue!

Well - my flares are a different story.  I rarely get diarrhea but do get pain, sometimes severe enough to put me in the hospital.  It's very hard to pin this down and I have to accept that there isn't always a reason for it.  Fortunately, I have an excellent internist and GI doc.  I take Asacol and Entecort daily, as well as VSL #3 probiotic.

    Hi Mary Lee,

It will never cease to amaze me at just how different we all are. It's a big reason why it's hard for doctors to get a good handle on how to treat our symptoms some times.

Glad to know you have some good docs on your side too. It really makes a difference.

    Cheers,

    Elizabeth

I hit a wall yesterday with fatigue and itchy inflammed skin on my face. I know it was what I ate, which was wheat crackers by the handful. I was diagnosed with Crohn's two years ago and I've been in remission for a while. Due to insurance situaiton, I have not been taking meds. But lately, I think my symptoms are beginning to change. BM's seem fairly normal but laboring no less. It's the instant sleepy, abnormal drowsiness and the skin flare up that is most debilitating and give me cause for concern.
