We are skinny people living in a fat mans world Elizabeth.  I get similar comments all the time.  The last flare I had took me down to my high school weight when I was running track (and I'm not running today) so I can understand why they are concerned.  I get comments like "you need to eat some meat."  I tell them them I eat plenty of meat it just the complex carbs & gluten I stay away from.  As long as my IBD is in check and I have energy that good enough for me...and if the weight is slowly going up ;-).

Stay warm and safe these holidays

I guess I am naive- but I can't imagine how rude people can be. First off if she was trying to help someone with anorexia, "shouting it out" and trying to shame you wouldn't have been the right step. I'm glad you held your own. I often encounter people who are just trying to be helpful- but are usually misinformed and feel the need to try and educate me on my illness. I too have lost a lot of weight since getting sick, I'm amazed actually, but if you feel good that is what matters most. Thank you for sharing- we all need a good rant ;)
