MY DAUGHTER WAS DIAGNOSED THREE YEARS AGO. SHE HAS BEEN SUFFERING SINCE THE AGE OF ONE. IT TOOK CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN BOSTON, MASS TO GET IT RIGHT!

EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO CURE FOR THESE CONDITIONS, BRIANNA TRIES TO EDUCATE HER CLASSMATES SO THEY CAN UNDERSTAND WHY SHE VISITS THE BATHROOM SO MUCH.

Hi Briasmommy,

Thanks for your post. I'm sorry your daughter has been suffering for so long, but happy that she is now getting the treatment she needs.

I applaud Brianna for helping to educate her classmates about her condition! She truly is brave!

HELLO BRIASMOMMY: I HAVE HAD UC FOR 4 YEARS SO I UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE IS GOING THROUGH.I THINK IT'S FANTASTIC THAT SHE IS EDUCATING HER FRIENDS ABOUT HER CONDITION. IT'S DIFFICULT FOR PEOPLE TO GRASP WHAT IT'S LIKE TO HAVE TO EXCUSE YOURSELF 8,10 OR MORE TIMES.TELL YOUR DAUGHTER SHE IS TRUELY A BRAVE LITTLE GIRL.MAYBE SOME DAY THE MEDICAL FIELD WILL FIND SOMETHING THAT WILL PUT UC INTO A TOTAL REMISSION OR EVEN A CURE.    SJC

There are some really good web sites.... please check out the "WE ARE Crohn's. org" or colitis web site for 100's of people including moms w/ little ones like you have.   Tons of friendly listening ears, and you can mae friends, and talk to them w/ IM too. Blessings to you and your daughter :)
