    I had been in remission from a flare for about 4 months and was doing well, so my doctor decided to switch me from my 3-pills 3-times-a-day dose of Asacol to a 3-pills once-a-day dose of Lialda.  Two weeks later, I was back in my flare!  My doctor said that there have been reports that the extended-release of Lialda has not worked for some people, and I guess I am one of them.  So just be careful if you make the switch, and let your doctor know ASAP if you start to experience symptoms more frequently!
