Great News!

It seems that my Crohn's disease is in total remission! The colonoscopy I had a couple of weeks ago showed no evidence of Crohn's on visual exam or biopsy.  The symptoms that I continue to have on an intermittent basis appear to be either from the diverticulosis I have and/or irritable bowel.  My doctor said if it weren't for the past colonoscopy findings and the positive Prometheus test, he would not think I even had Crohn's in the first place.

Today will be my second day free of IBD specific medications.  I continue to take the Flora-Q Probiotic formula and will continue to take it.  I also encourage any of you who have not discussed the use of probiotics with your physician to please do so.

Suffice it to say, things are looking up!  My next objective is to increase my strength and endurance.  My single greatest complaint over the past several years has been extreme fatigue and downright weakness.  Now, knowing that my Crohn's is in remission, having my blood sugar under control since I am no longer on steroids and having fewer issues with my arthritis tells me that I no longer have excuses.  So that shall be my focus.  I'll come back one day and tell you about my progress.  Meanwhile, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Take care, everyone.  Make your days good days!!
