After 50 years od suffering from digestive problems, I finally found out what I was doing wrong. Understand, I have tried every prescription on the planet, all of the OTC drugs, but nothing helped. I still continued to suffer from intestinal gas, bloating and severe heartburn. After many tests I was finally diaganosed withh IBD becasue the doctors could not find anything else wrong with me. I found the website greattastenopain and decided to try it because nothing else helped. I discovered it was not what I was eating, but what I was eating. it with. For example proteins and starches cannot be eaten together because proteins require acid enzymes to digest and starches require alkaline enzymes to digest. When you eat them at the same meal, they neutralize each other and the food remains undigested causing gas, bloating and heartburn. You can eat any food but not necessarily at the same meal. This is not a diet . This is somthing your doctor does not tell you. After I started food combining I found immediate relief. I wanted to share this because this is something I had never heard of. The website is http:www.greattastenopain.com/great.asp The book is a great help. It goes into great detail about why you cannot eat certain foods together and also lists all of the foods that you can and cannot eat together. I hope this helps someone. It has changed my life.

Hi Jordan,
Welcome to the site. And I'm thrilled to know that you figured out something that is helping your symptoms. This is good information that will be useful to others. Thanks for posting it.
I just wanted to mention/clarify one thing in your post. Are you sure the doctors finally Dx'd you with IBD - Inflammatory Bowel Disease? I think, from your description of the Dr.'s not being able to find anything wrong with you that their Dx was more probably IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome. IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion - meaning, it is given only after all other possible GI disorders (like IBD) have been ruled out.
If you were actually diagnosed with IBD, then that means that you have either Ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, and while both can be helped, immensely, with diet, you do have to be more vigilant to be followed by your physician, to get regular scopes, etc. becuase gut inflammation is the main complication with IBD and if left untreated can become extremely problematic.
So, just be sure you know your diagnosis correctly. IBD is a far different disease than IBS which is a syndrome.
