What is meant by "pale" or "clay" colored stools?

I have light brown, sometimes yellowish brown, very loose stools and have had for a long time. I keep reading to be concerned about "clay colored stools". What does "clay colored" mean? Very light brown? Reddish brown? Or gray? Or something else?

When they say "pale" stools, does that mean grayish? or light brown?

I don't know if this is a problem or not.
