 My 11 year old daughter and I ate a bag of stale rice chips which launched our IBS.  After 6 months of worsening I took us to Dr. Anne Hines in Winston Salem, NC.  Dr. Hines prescribed the Specific Carlbohydrate Diet per Elaine Gottshall's "Breaking the Vicious Cycle".  Beyond all hope we implemented the plan and our IBS was GONE IN ONE WEEK.

 

In a nutshell, one eliminates all grains and sugar, but one may eat fruit and honey.

 

Four years later we are still IBS free.  The forward of Breaking the Vicious Cycle

is written by a Board Certified Gastroenterologist who basically says: What the heck is going on?  Why would any physican prescribe drugs or do surgery before prescribing the Specific Carlbohydrate Diet FIRST?  It has the power to cure or reduce IBS, Celiac, Crones, acid reflux, and so forth.    I am so grateful.  Les
