So, I did it to myself again. In the hustle and bustle of sick kids, working from home and various other commitments I ran out of time to make a healthy dinner for myself. I grabbed something somewhat healthy through a drive though and am paying dearly for it today. The whole mornin...

Jennifer,
I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you. You're right, convenience food isn't convenient if you pay for it for days after eating it. I learned this the hard way about 8 years ago and haven't touched any sort of fast food - not even a salad at McD's - since.
When I'm out and about and there's the chance I'll need to eat on the road I try to plan ahead and make something at home I know I can eat. But there are those times when a short errands runs into hours and I'm hungry. I do one of two things - go hungry until I get home (this is usually what I do), or I stop by a natural foods store, convenience store, or grocery store and buy something I know I can safely eat - plain yogurt, cheddar cheese, certain crackers or bread, a banana, or natural applesauce are all options for me.
I also always have a jug of water with me. It can tide you over until you get home for a healthier snack or meal.
Cheers,
Elizabeth

Thank you for the reminder! Since I'm a full time student, the temptation to get a quick, already-fixed meal is huge. You definitely save more time if you just prepare ahead and cook yourself. No sense in causing an unwelcomed flare-up.

Thanks for your comments. I think sometimes people forget that even the "healthy" meals at a fast food place can cause problems. We moms need to take more time to nurture our own health! I agree that a little planning can go a LONG way!
