Diet changes serve several purposes in patients with Crohn's disease.  It can be an important add-on treatment to medical therapy for maintaining nutrition and correcting nutrition deficiencies.  It can be a primary treatment in reducing flares and be a long-term therapy technique to keep flares at bay.  Each patient will have their own food sensitivities. It is important to take note of which foods cause Crohn's symptoms and flares.
