At a Glance

People with Crohn's Disease and other forms of IBD have a difficult time absorbing essential nutrients into their blood stream resulting in malnutrition.  They are also at risk for low body weight and anemia in Crohn's patients. For this reason, Crohn's patients are advised to eat diets high in protein and iron and, in some cases, ingest more than the recommended 2,000 calories daily.
