About 2 million Americans suffer from some form of IBD. IBD tends to be genetic and Crohn's Disease affects women more than men. Both forms of IBD are most often diagnosed in young adults ages 10 to 19, but a diagnosis can occur at any age. People who are left handed have a significantly higher risk of developing IBD.
