The average person with Crohn's Disease spends $8,265 on treatment in a year while a person with Ulcerative Colitis spends $5,066 per year on treatment for their disease.  IBD, just like any chronic disease is costly in many ways, including financially.  If you have insurance make sure to understand how much of your IBD treatments are covered, including specialists, tests and treatments.
