Immunosuppressive Medications
Immunosuppressive drugs are used for very active inflammatory bowel disease that does not respond to standard treatment. These drugs suppress the immune system and its inflammatory response, which is the cause of Chrohn's disease. These drugs are used for long-term therapy and may help maintain remission. They can also help heal fistulas and intestinal ulcers caused by the disease.
