Some Say We Created Our Illness

I live in Boulder, Colorado, one of the most health-centric places in the world. So when I got sick with ulcerative colitis in 2000, I felt like some kind of failure. I was a wife, a mom, and in the middle of my main earning years. It was a terrible time to be sick. I spent a lot of time thinking, "What did I do to create this?"   In... Read moreChevron

Stress and IBD

My doctor (and many others) have told me multiple times that stress will make my UC symptoms worse... MY DAUGHTER THE BRAVE ONE.

MY DAUGHTER WAS DIAGNOSED THREE YEARS AGO. SHE HAS BEEN SUFFERING SINCE THE AGE OF ONE. IT TOOK CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN BOSTON, MASS TO GET IT RIGHT!   EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO CURE FOR THESE CONDITIONS, BRIANNA TRIES TO EDUCATE HER CLASSMATES SO THEY CAN UNDERSTAND WHY SHE VISITS THE BATHROOM SO MUCH.
