Hi Theresa,
There are a few good options for replacing white sugar in tea/coffee and even baking. Honey is natural, good for you, and delicious in both tea and coffee, honest, I use it every morning. There is brown sugar, also called Turbinado, it's natural, not refined, and better for you than the white stuff. Or, you can try Stevia, now also being sold as Truvia. It's a natural, plant-based sweetener that is also decent.
Personally, I stick with honey and brown sugar.
IBDers shouldn't eat any of the sugar substitutes like sweet n low, etc. as they just seem to aggravate symptoms.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Peace,
Elizabeth
Hope you find that one of these work for you. I just wanted to clarify one thing. By brown sugar, I'm not talking about the kind that you use for baking (that packs into a measuring cup). Turbinado sugar is brown in color and it's crystals are quite large. You'll find it in the same aisle as other sugar but it's typically used for sweetening coffee and tea. It's natural sugar that has not been processed. I usually switch between honey and turbinado so as not to become sensitive to one or the other.
Let me know which you like the best!
Cheers,
Elizabeth

I have been traveling a lot for work, so I think I may get the Truvia to use when I am not at home or office to use the honey. I think I would like the honey more than the brown sugar. But I will try both.
Thank you
