Is a person with CHF, COPD, High Blood Pressure, previous stroke and anurysum a high risk for surger

My grandmother is about to have 9 in. of bowel removed due to polyps. She is 80 yrs. old and has several health issues. How high of a risk is she for surgery?

Hi Heather,

 

As you probably know there's a certain level of risk involved with any surgery. With all the factors you've listed as well as your grandmother's age, there is probably a fairly high risk involved with surgery. However, your grandmother's doctor or doctors have most likely determined the benefits of the surgery outweigh the risks.
