Hi Heather, As you probably know there's a certain level of risk involved with any surgery. With all the factors you've listed as well as your grandmother's age, there is probably a fairly high risk involved with surgery. However, your grandmother's doctor or doctors have most likely determined the benefits of the surgery outweigh the risks.
