Q: My stomach hurts after eating peanut butter, eggs, protein shakes. Is it Dumping Syndrome?

I have just turned 23 years old and am a male(if that matters). I have never had surgery, unless colonoscopy and endoscopy counts. I have had issues with my stomach, including acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, maybe lactose intolerant, and hiatal hernia.

Witness,

Sue could be right, you could have a problem with gluten. BUT, do not stop eating gluten containing foods until you see your doctor and have them run the proper blood tests to test you for Celiac Disease. Celiac disease is when a person has a true allergy to gluten and it cannot be properly diagnosed if you stop eating gluten before being tested.

Now, that said, even if you do not test positive for Celiac disease - a gluten allergy - you could be gluten intolerant (as I am), and may still find it beneficial to eat a gluten-free diet.

Cheers,

Elizabeth
