I too experience this intriguing phenomenon occasionally and have wondered what exactly it may be. These things do not look like something that would naturally occur in a person, right? They appear to be plastic or something. The only thing I can imagine is that a very large enteric coated pill somehow makes it through both the small and large intestines getting coated with something else along the way. What medications do you take that may fit this description?
I know this is an old question but I'd love to hear what the two of you have learned about this since June of last year. I continue to have these and I know it is not medication getting through. These things appear to be actual casts of some nook or crannie in my gut somewhere. Diverticula? Appendix? Hernia? I've no clue and my doctor just blew it off when I told him about it.
Any other ideas?
