As Elizabeth noted, above, there doesn't appear to be any published medical literature that mentions a relationship between taking metronidazole, and later developing diabetes.   I would guess that the reason is, within about eight hours of a dose, your kidneys have removed almost all of the metronidazole ("Flagyl"). The little that remains is excreted in your stool.
