Q: For women over 50 and already in menapause, what is the proper level of vitamin D to maintain bone density? And is it dangerous to take more than 1000 mg of vitamin D per day?

As to your specific question about Vitamin D, in most people there shouldn't be a problem in taking 1,000mg of Vit.D per day, but as with any supplement or medication you should discuss this with your doctor so that you are taking the proper types and amounts for your personal health condition.
