HI Sandaroo,

While we appreciate you writing in with your question, we simply cannot give you dosing information about prescription drugs - we aren't doctors here just other patients living with IBD.

You should talk to your doctor or your pharmacist about safe levels of prescription medications.

Best,

Elizabeth

Sandaroo, I agree with Elizabeth's answer.  Every medication you take needs to be discussed with your doctor or pharmacist to take into account other medications you take.  Lomotil has a maximum dose and a limit on how long you should take the medication if it is not having an effect.  But, these limits depend on other medications you may be taking.  You may need to take a lower dosage depending on your other medications.  Have you spoken with the pharmacist who gave you the prescription for Lomotil?
