Not all, but many gas and bloating issues can be traced back to what a person is eating. The typical American diet of prepackaged, preservative laden, fast food is not good for the gut and can cause these issues. A diet of whole foods - meat, fish, fruits, veggies, etc. can be helpful to getting digestion and elimination back on track.   Take a look through the share posts here and read up on various diets and ways to find 'trigger' foods as well as what foods work best when your gut isn't happy.   Sometimes it can be as simple as keeping a food diary - write down everything that you eat and how you feel after you eat it. do this for at least a week, a month is even better, and you can often look back at your symptoms and what you ate to determine those foods or types of foods that are causing problems. Things like raw or undercooked veggies, preservatives, dairy products, and legumes can all be culprits for causing gas and bloating.   It will take some time and research on your part but you can figure this out.   Good luck, Elizabeth   P.S. I often find that if I eat too many servings of bread, rice, or pasta in the same day I will feel uncomfortably bloated. So, I limit myself to one serving from all of these foods per day and don't suffer.
