I feel for you, I really do, I lost a lot of my hair last year when I had a serious infection in my bowel, I have crohn's, mine wasn't due to medication, but I know some meds have that side effect. There are good 'hair repair' shampoos from boots, I use one all the time, my hair has grown back now. I would suggest you speak with your consultant about your concerns, he/she may be able to change it to one that suits your condition as well as stopping the hair loss.
