Q: I have acute pancreasitis, Drs. put 2 stents in my pancreas, I now have severe diahhrea,

Will my diahhrea continue after the stents are removed?

My pancreas is scarred due to my out of control diabetes

Does anybody know anything about this?

Your pancreas probably are not secreting digestive enzymes properly, either related to the pancreatitis or to the scarring is located. Diarrhea often results when the pancreas are not functioning normally, so the diarrhea may or not continue after the stents are removed, depending upon how well your pancreas is secreting digestive enzymes by then.

 

If you also had your gall bladder removed recently, this, too, may be the reason for the diarrhea, since the purpose of the gall bladder is to aid in the digestion of fats.

 

Are your pancreatic problems the result of long standing IBD?
