Hi Laura,

I hear and understand your frustration.

There can be so many different things that can cause GI issues and problems. We aren't doctors  here so can't begin to diagnose what the problem could be. And without knowing a lot more about you and what you are experiencing it's hard to tell you where you start.

You might need to find a new doctor to start. If your current one isn't taking you seriously or doesn't seem to be helping you then you might need a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

Have you tried changing your diet? Sometimes a low residue diet can be helpful when your gut is very unhappy - see this article to find out more - http://www.healthcentral.com/ibd/question-answer-27509-63.html

Or you could have a gluten-intolerance, see my newest Sharepost about this - http://www.healthcentral.com/ibd/c/2623/146255/gluten-prevalent-today

While I know it is hard and frustrating and debilitating it is up to you to keep forging ahead and asking questions until you find someone who will listen and help you figure this out. It took me years and years until I got my first diagnosis of IBD, but having the diagnosis didn't make me miraculously better. I've worked for more than ten years to change my diet, my lifestyle, my stress levels, etc. and I mostly have good days now. But it's a lot of work evey day to maintain the level of health I now have.

Ask your friends or coworkers or family members who live nearby if they have a doctor who they like and make an appointment with them.

Best of luck to you,

Elizabeth
