Hi Stormy,

Do you have IBD - Crohn's or Colitis?  If yes, and you are experiencing much mucus in your stools you should talk to your doctor about it to make sure you aren't on the verge of a flare-up.

If you haven't been Dx'd with IBD, then you might have IBS as mucus can be a symptom of IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Either way it tends to be a symptom of inflammation in the colon and  you should discuss it with your doctor.

Cheers,

Elizabeth

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I have Crohn's (I have had it for over 12 years at this point). It is not well controlled as only prednosone has been found to work for it. This symptom started about a year ago and has been a pain. I have consulted my doctor but he did not have any ideas about how to minimize it so I figured I would post here in case someone else had any ideas. :)
