my intestines feel inflamed inside. I have had chronic diaharrea but with no +diagnosis for years
I think I have been tested for every text book problem and none have shown as a diagnosis. I often have rapid transit problems but then other times my stomach will hold onto the food and not digest it for hours. I have been to MANY doctors over the years and they all say they will figure it out UNTIL they can't find a textbook answer...then they forget about me. I am so discouraged. I am getting worse as the years pass but still I cannot find a doctor who wants to go beyond the text book cases. I have been tested for sprue and crohns and probably everything else that is the typical problems Anyone out there have any last resort suggestions? I had diverticulitis and my colon ruptured so I had to have surgery but even now I still suffer from this strange problem.
IN PAIN!
Hi Wisconsin,
Gosh, you are having a rough time of it, aren't you? I'm so sorry. I really don't have much helpful advice for you as I'm not a doctor or nurse. I don't know what part of Wisconsin you're in but I grew up in Racine and had a great GI there who my parents still see. If you would like his name let me know and I'll forward it along to you.
If you feel you've exhausted your options with GIs it may be time to search out a different type of doctor. A D.O. or doctor of osteopathy could be helpful to you, or a homeopath, or holistic. These types of doctors tend to look outside the box and it may be another venue to try.
That's about all I can offer you but hope you find the help you need.
Cheers,
Elizabeth

Have you kept a food diary? When I first got diagnosed with Crohn's I kept a diary for a few months to figure out what triggered symptoms. I eliminated everything but pretty bland stuff and then added foods one by one. It was really annoying, but it had great and surprising results. I had been drinking Coke for years but found it (and most caramel sodas) create undesirable side effects.
You should check out with some different kinds of doctors, too, I know you say you've tried a lot already, but maybe it will help whichever doctors you see if you can bring some dietary history or info with you too.

I would suggest you contact Dr. Joel Robbins in Tulsa, Oklahoma...you can find his information online. Eating raw, live foods, juicing, and combining foods properly may help you...your food needs to contain enzymes to help you digest it, assimilate it, gain the energy you need and stop the pain! All the best~
