Hello, Gail.

I don't know of anything in the medical literature to suggest that exposure to mold might be a cause of, or a precipitating factor in, Crohn's disease, for those people who are genetically predisposed to what is believed to be, an auto-immune disease.

Hope

I am a crhons pateint, and have been for all most ten years.  Before I was diagnosed with crhons.  I was exposed to a hig level of moled.  Me not knowing that mold was dangerous; I live with it for almost a year until the smell became bad.  I always complained to the rental property, but they took there time with fixing the problem.  I have three children that suffered from this thing called mold.  Part of my colon was so bad that I had to have it removed, and now I am wearing a stoma bag.  I think that mold played a big part, in my case.  I now have to have a nother surgery done to remove more of my colon.  So in my case, yes I think that mold can cause Crohn's Disease.
