Cimzia is a biologic drug, recently approved to treat moderate to severe Crohn's disease in adults. Like other similar biologics, such as Remicade and Humira, it blocks tumor necrosis factor (TNF), which is thought to play an important role in the inflammation related to Crohn's disease. The active ingrediant in Cimzia is certolizumab pegol.
