Q: the polyps were not tested or removed should I be concerned

the dr didn't remove or test any of the polyps, told husband they were the good kind. Should they have been removed or at least tested? Can u tell with the naked eye if they are good or bad. With my sister being diagnosed w/colon cancer I am concerned and my dr.attributes all ailments to hysterctomy and/or depression. Thanks for your answers. I don't know how to handle this with her, maybe I need a second opinion.

The best answer I can give you, is that the standard of care is to remove polyps--all of them--during a colonoscopy, and have them biopsied. This is the only way to tell for certain if any malignant cells are present.

An experienced clinican might guess about whether or not tissue appears malignant or not, but the only way to tell for certain is to send tissue specimens to a skilled pathologist for biopsy.
