Hi Tint,   I've never heard of electrolyzed water. I have, however, heard of electrolytes. Electrolytes are a natural part of the body and having a good balance of them is essential for our body's cells and organs to work and function correctly. It's sodium, potassium, chloride, and bicarbonate that makes up electrolytes.   Manufactureres of water these days are infusing it with electrolytes. And many athletes drink this when exercising and sweating, meaning they are losing salt and potassium. So, drinking electrolyte water is a way to replenish the lost nutrients.   Think of Gatorade, it's an electrolyte drink.   For people with IBD who tend to have chronic diarrhea, we can lose a lot of electrolytes and it's important to replenish them. So, yes, a good quality electrolyte drink can be helpful in these situations. Personally, I find Gatorade a little hard on my gut so if I drink it I tend to stick with the lemon-lime flavor and cut it 50/50 with water.   Hope this helps, Elizabeth
