I havent has a regular bowel movement in over a eweek i have took stool softeners and laxatives they dont help what could be wrong?

Hi Brenda,
It's hard to define what a regular bowel movement is. Some people have bowel movements once a day and others every other day, etc...
If your problem is constipation, check out our constipation and impaction guide for treatment options. Also check out our constipation in adults symptom checker for possible suggestions as to what is causing your bowel problems and ways to treat it.
If your problem is diarrhea, as you indicated in the category, than I would not recommend stool softeners or laxatives. And you can click here for more information.
