does colitis cause you to smell bad

i went to the doctor about itching and odor at my anas he said it was a rash causing it and gave me cream for treatment it seemed to help but the odor is still there is this caused by colitis i haved colitis for 2 years

Hi Mark,
I've not heard of many people with UC complain of odor. However, if you have an anal rash that will cause odor, and if that rash makes it hard to clean there properly that will cause odor as well.
You might try baby wipes to help clean the anal area. They are moist and soothing and also help to clean the area well. Otherwise, you may need to go back to the doctor and make sure the rash is properly healing or to ask for a different cream to treat this.
