Hi Drue,   I'm sorry you're in pain. I know how awful and debilitating it can be.   For some of us changes in what we eat can help with the pain, but when I was in my worst flare and the pain was unbearable at times I had to turn to Bentyl, a prescription medication that my GI prescribed. I only took it when the pain was severe as it tended to give me a pretty bad headache, but it really helped to take the edge off.   Over the years I've also found rhythmic breathing, meditation, and Reiki to be very helpful for controlling pain of all types, including abdominal pain - there are CDs available to help you with guided meditation. Some people also find that acupunture or acupressure are helpful.   It's probably best to start by talking to the doctor who is treating you for your IBD. Maybe even start to chart your symptoms so that you have a road map to give to the doctor when you see them. It's easy to think we'll remember in a week just how awful we feel today, but it's not always so easy when you only have 10 minutes to get it all out on the table when at the doctor's office.   I hope you can find some relief.   Peace, Elizabeth
