Q: IBS & NAUSEA

I have had IBS for a number of years.  The most recent flare up included nausea, which I have not had before.  I'm using ginger & peppermint teas and other OTC remedies which help somewhat.  I've spoken with others who have IBS and they share these symptoms as well.  Just wondering how long this nausea will last??  Aside from the discomfort of the other IBS symptoms, this one is the worst.  Any thoughts would be helpful.

Hi DJ,

I've heard that nausea can be a symptom for some with IBS, but I can't tell you what causes it or how long it will last. You may need to discuss this with your doctor or nutritionist.

Ginger and peppermint are the best remedies I know of for nausea, so you're on the right track with how to treat it.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
