He went to the doctor today and they told me that he had the rotavirus. He does not want to drank or eat. He has not vomitted or ran any fever yet. The only syptoms he is haveing is the really bad smelling diarrhea.

Thank you for writing, Kim. I'm sure you are very worried about your little guy.
This site is dedicated to issues and information related to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
My best advice to you is to to keep him well hydrated by offering him small, frequent drinks of Pedialyte (no milk or dairy until his stools get back to normal). Make sure he is peeing light colored urine every couple of hours. If he still wears diapers, make sure he makes several wet ones during the day. Check to see that his lips stay moist; they shouldn't be dried out and cracked. If these signs of adequate hydration are not present, let your doctor know right away.
If the diarrhea worsens (increases, becomes bloody, or lasts more than another day), or you have any other worries about your son's condition, please contact his doctor promptly.
