There are several treatment options for Ulcerative Colitis that differ depending on the severity of each particular case.  Most patients keep a close eye on what sorts of foods cause UC flares and do their best to avoid those foods.  Some patients with severe symptoms will go on some kind of medication to control and lessen flare ups over time.
