Meds ease painful mouth ulcers

Researchers have found that two medications may treat painful mouth ulcers. One med, Trental, provided some relief to patients with ulcers from recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Another study found that Elidel cream was effective against oral erosive lichen planus. These ulcers are so painful that patients often lose weight because mouth pain prevents them from eating.
