Foods To Help Constipation

Two meds may help chronic constipation

Two medications may offer hope to people who suffer from severe constipation. In one study, patients who suffered from severe constipation caused by inadequate nerve function were helped by the drug prucalopride. And in a second study, patients who had opioid-induced constipation responded well to the drug methylnaltrexone (Relistor). The trial was one of two studies that led to approval of the drug, which is given by injection, by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration last month. Read more »
